You know you kids are watching too much TV when:

Today as we were climbing into the car after swimming lessons, Adrie wrapped her towel around her head and said (in her funny squeaky voice): "I am Darth Sidious!" Who is Darth Sidious? What happened to watching Sleeping Beauty? Why does my 4 year old think she is a Dark Lord of the Sith (see, I figured out who he is thanks to google)?
Along with letting my kids watch Star Wars excessively, I have also been growing this Buddha. Apparently, he only eats cream. I warned Paul that he will need to figure something out this Sunday when he blesses Nathan- the classic baby in the center on the circle resting gently on everyone's hands is not going to fly. I am reminded of those object lessons where they have you hold a jug of milk straight out in front (I can't remember the point of the lesson) and not even the strongest person can do it for very long. That will be Paul on Sunday. It will either be the shortest blessing ever or he will need to hold him in the classic baby next to chest hold (which we prefer anyway- holding a baby out straight in front of you and bouncing them just screams startle reflex to me!) Also, if you are wondering why the picture of Nathan is slightly blurry, no, I am not trying to go for the soft focus look. I realized after I loaded the pictures that someone attacked the lens of the camera with a very grubby finger. Three guesses who it was and the first two don't count.

Busy Times

The last few weeks have been pretty busy. I am afraid I have neglected this blog and my email. After the wedding Saturday (yea Suzanne and James!), I will get back in the swing of things!

For now, I just wanted to send a sweet little smile to all of you! I present Nathan, the neckless wonder. Don't you just want to kiss those cute cheeks? I do!

Life According to A: Take 2

I like to record funny things the kids say (let's face it, sometimes the cute things they say may be the only funny thing that happens all day!!). Little Miss A keeps cracking me up with her words and sometimes wisdom. So although I just posted about her funny words, this was our conversation tonight:

A: "When is gymnastics?"
Me: "Tuesday."
A: "Is that the next day?"
Me "No, we have to have Friday, Saturday . . ."
A: Blank Stare
Me: "You know, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday (singing the song)."
A: "And then it just goes over and over until you DIE?!!!"

Pretty much yes;-)

This morning Adrie and I were discussing her jobs for the day.

Me: "A, what jobs do you have?"
A: "My room is dirty, I need to clean it."
Me: "It's dirty? You just cleaned it last night!"
A (with a huge smile): "I know, it's a miracle!"

I love four year old's observations- they have a good grasp on language but sometimes don't quite get the usage right!
